I think I’m slowly going to transition out of Flickr.  500px is a Toronto based startup that fairly recently, gained a ton of popularity.  I just love how the photos are displayed (Pinterest-esque) as well as the ‘social’ aspect that Flickr was always missing.  With Flickr, it always seemed like I was just cataloguing my photos rather than sharing them.  I still have another year on my Flickr Pro account, but unless they change something during that time, I don’t think I’ll be looking back.

You know those days that just seem to crawl?  Today was one of those days.  Work went by slowly, the subway seemed to be pausing for an extra minute at each stop, and I swear the traffic lights were all red.  When I finally got home, all that stood before me and my brand new D800, was the battery.  I just waited and watched the blinking amber light on the charger go on and off, on and off.  Sometimes it seemed to stay on for a millisecond longer than usual - just enough to get my hopes up - when it’d switch off again.  Tease.

So by the time the battery was charged, it was getting dark outside (super windy too!) so I had to settle to take one of the most cliche photos on the planet.  At least I didn’t make it black and white.
