About
Welcome to my blog!
Given this is my about page, I guess I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Michael Choi. I live in Toronto, Canada and I’m currently in my fourth year of Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo. One of the best things about the program is the co-operative education aspect. This give me the opportunity to find engineering related jobs with various employers in various countries. I love travelling. Being able to experience and capture some of their culture has been amazing.
One of my earliest memories is using Lego pieces to build myself a camera. Of course it didn’t actually take pictures, but I would imagine it did as I peered through its tiny viewfinder. Photography peaked my interest again in grade 12 in a physics project where I had to capture various sky phenomena on film. I lugged my dad’s 500lbs. Nikon F4 to downtown Toronto hoping to catch crepuscular rays at Harbourfront. I saved a portion of my first co-op term’s earnings and bought myself my first DSLR - a Nikon D40. I’ve been taking absolutely horrendous pictures ever since.
And now, because I dislike writing, a list of my favourite things!
